I’m you’re host, Gary Neidert. Welcome to today’s episode: Beware of Crabs

Here’s what we’ll cover today:

The story of crabs
Crabs all around
Crabs at events
What to do about them

Crabs can be all around you in life

    • Ever felt like someone was grabbing your leg and pulling it down?
      • co worker
      • boss
      • even a friend

Crabs at the shows

    • How could this be? Every company is there to sell, right?

It happens with seasoned exhibitors

It happens with new exhibitors

It especially happens with people who have wrong expectations or don’t follow basic principles of working shows

What do do about crabs

    • Know the basic principles of working an event…and do them.
    • Make sure everyone working a booth knows what to do…and that they do it.
    • Have a game plan or a goal of what you want from the event and let everyone working the booth know what it is.
      • print it out and make sure everyone working the booth has one and reviews it
    • Ignore the crabs-don’t let them hang onto your leg and try to pull you back in the crab bucket
    • Stay focused on your goal for the event

Moral of the story: Ignore the crabs. Charge ahead and do what is right for you and your company. It probably won’t be easy. However, if you don’t ignore the crabs, you’ll soon become one. Pulled into the bucket. Once in the bucket…you’ll end up being someone’s dinner.
