Passive vs Active Marketing

Passive marketing

Frank writes a check to advertise using print, radio, TV, internet, etc.

Waits for someone to respond to his ad, pick up the phone and call. Then he waits and waits and waits….. He’s waiting on his prospect to be compelled to pick up the phone and call him. He’s passively waiting for business to come to him.

Active Marketing

Ron also writes a check. However he is going to participate in a live event where he or his staff can talk with prospects face to face. Ron and his staff interact with attendees. They have a dialog instead of a monologue. He’s putting action to his marketing. He’s not waiting on prospect to call him. He’s an active marketer..
